
6 Month Marine Leisure Pursuits Support Officer for Classic Sailing – Based in Mid Cornwall

This is a multi task position with work on land and water on vessels and computer work in our sales office. Must be prepared for physical work and living on board a yacht or tall ship for brief periods. Basic computer skills would be helpful. Successful completion of the six month position may lead to further employment wit

h training. This could be for qualifications in commercial sailing or office work and computer skills. It is for 25 hours per week with additional training during the week. Due to the nature of the work the hours will have to be flexible.
Phase one
Maintenance work on wooden pilot cutter Eve of St Mawes based in Penryn.
Willing but not skilled is the attitude required. You will be expected to use hand power tools for sanding down woodwork and to be able to paint with hand brushes or rollers. Other straightforward tasks may also be required.
Phase two
Maintenance work on Bessie Ellen, a west country tall ship, in Fowey or Charleston, accommodation provided on board.
Phase three
Either
Working at sea as a deckhand on Bessie Ellen in Cornish waters when appropriate, accommodation provided on board.
Or
Office Work
You may be required to work in the sales office based near Portscatho on the Roseland peninsular. Computer task may be undertaken for which full training will be given.
