Stavros S Niarchos
This two masted brig is a UK sail training ship, purpose built in 2000 to take novice youth and adult crews to sea safely. Before you sail everybody undergoes an intensive training period so you can handle a 500 ton sailing ship with 18 sails.

Working Aloft

The essence of sailing square rig for many is to go aloft. It is not compulsory but there are few adrenalin buzzes in the world to match stowing a sail 100ft up above the glistening sea. If swinging around in the rigging is not for you, there is still plenty of physical action at deck level.

Before you sail everybody undergoes an intensive training period so you can handle a 500 ton sailing ship with 18 sails. This includes going aloft under close supervision, its not compulsory just great fun and the essence of tall ship adventure sailing. You are the ships crew and all the sail work is done with your muscle in a team effort. You get to helm, keep lookout, set and trim sails and keep the shipshape shape and Bristol Fashion.

Stavros S Niarchos is an ideal first tall ship and her inexpensive voyages will give you an insight into how brilliant tall ship adventure sailing can be.
