SAILING PHOTO CHALLENGE on Spring Special Offer Voyages - Save upto £100 and win £50 voucher
Bessie Ellen in Lysefjord, Norway by Darren Packham
Can your photo image capture the essence of our sailing voyages ?
Keen photographers looking for an excuse to sail a classic boat ?
Some photos really give a flavour of the fantastic sailing destinations our guests explore, but often everyone is too busy pulling on ropes, or being sociable to take time to create that special composition.
Also there are times when you need to make a special dinghy trip, so creating the shot can end up involving the whole crew. Even our skippers are a bit shy of taking time out from the task of running a successful sailing voyage for everybody, to take that special pomotional shot.
Special offer voyages where you can win a photo prize too

Featuring Lizzie May, Mountains & Langostines ?
YOUR BRIEF IF YOU SAIL ON LIZZIE MAY:
We have some cracking photos of Lizzie May in Cornwall, but we are looking for some really iconic shots of this stunning pilot cutter in her relatively new home in Western Scotland for our website and brochures.
Her skippers Jerry and Laurie know all the best places but Lizzie is still a new girl amongst the mountains and islands. Rum, Sound of Mull or Ardnamurchan Point are not the sort of places where marine photographers hang out amongst the sheep waiting for a good looking pilot cutter to pass. The light conditions up there are great - whether you have sparkling seas as a backdrop or a gathering storm. In Spring there may still be some snow on the summits. For the brave you can get good angles with a wide angle lense from the end of the bowsprit, and Lizzie has plenty of traditional rigging to frame photos from on deck.
Classic Sailing are also keen to photographically record Lauries new Scottish seafood and sailing voyages, so we are looking for photos of collecting seafood or fish from waterside quays of organic suppliers or a pre arranged fishing boat rendevous during the voyage. Guest crew preparing scallops on deck, or eating a grand feast down below might be another angle.
Annabel J for action on deck
YOUR BRIEF IF YOU SAIL ON AJ
In a way this is the opposite to Lizzie May. We have some great photos of her sailing from other boats, but we lack action shots of guest crew setting sail and tacking and gybing. She has acres of deck space, but we have surprisingly few photos showing how big she is compared to Eve or Lizzie May, or crew actually flexing a few muscles without posing.
The more timeless you can make the photo and human action the better - so if you have one of those sailing in Norwegian fishermans jumpers kind of day rather than yellow oilskins then its time to get the camera out (think Classic Boat Magazine).....but please don't make everyone suffer for your art !
