Ocean and longer voyages

Ocean Passages and Mile Building Voyages

Serious Sailing

These longer voyages are ideal adventure sailing holidays for the serious sailor. They take longer and travel form one place to another so early planning is essential. Though no experience is required you do need to know you enjoy sailing. We can give travel advice often from first hand experience.

Deep Water Sailing

Ocean sailors happily adapt to a watch routine and the constant motion of the ship day and night. You establish a routine that is relaxing and comfortable but keeps you occupied. Sailing at night with absolutely no light pollution makes the night sky brilliant, see the Milky Way in three dimensions like the strands of a rope. Experience all the ships moods from glassy calms to white capped swells launching flying fish from crest to crest.

"We did plenty of sailing and had great weather. The watch system was great fun and even mess duty was great! I would not hesitate to recommend one of these trips to anyone." Scott Caple

North Atlantic Ocean Passages

Most years there are Atlantic Crossings from Europe to the Caribbean in the late autumn, to avoid the Hurricane season. Crossing back to Europe via the Azores in the spring. Typically these adventure sailing voyages can be for 50 plus days and are the best value voyages you can find.

Sail the Southern Atlantic

Sail from Cape Town to South America and look out for whales and albatross during the crossing. Adventure sailing with the chance of fascinating wild life. This is a long non stop passage but the quality of the sailing and the interesting waters you sail through all add to the experience.

Mile Building Voyages

As our vessels travel around Europe in the summer going from one sailing area to another there often voyages referred to as delivery trips. These provide longer voyages but as they are never far from land there is a good chance for a lot of sail handling and visiting ports on route. The adventure sailing takes on a more local feel with the need to keep a sharp look out for increased traffic at sea.

RYA Log Book

If you are looking to enter lots of sea miles in your RYA log book then these voyages are a good opportunity and for European voyages there is never to far to travel at each end.
