Privateer Project
creating a future for traditional sailing
Take two 200ft Brigs, a brigantine, a 1924 Falmouth working boat, three pilot cutters, a topsail schooner with swivel guns, a 1904 west country trading ketch, a Brixham trawler yacht, miscellaneous gaff cutters, a 95ft classic yacht with only two bronze winches and that’s just the beginning….
Over ten years Classic Sailing has helped many historic and replica vessels to earn their living at sea. In addition to consistently filling our own boat ‘Eve’ with customers, we have worked in partnership with other ship owners to boost their bookings. As a business the key to our success has been to never let up on marketing and listen to our customers. By advising many new business start ups and working with experienced operators we have also learned a lot along the way.
In 2007 we are promoting slightly fewer vessels so we can focus on some exciting new plans.
We will continue to introduce you to the best traditional boats and tall ships around, but we want to be able to develop our own innovative holiday ideas. Operating a larger sister ship to Eve will enable us to bring you the best of ten years experience in the adventure charter business and our own personal touch to your sailing holiday.
Classic Sailing will be raising investment to own and operate a second larger vessel
Founders Adam and Debbie watch with concern as the worlds resources dwindle and modern life gets more complex. There is a future for wind powered holidays and it is not just for ethical travel. Wooden boats are aesthetically beautiful and lift the soul. Our team of skippers are skilled practitioners in the art of sail training for adults. Conversations are not limited to sailing and good honest physical work is an excellent way to clear the mind. We try and open your eyes to the beauty and diversity of our natural world. Many people believe they are just coming on a holiday.
Afterwards they may look at the world differently.
