Knowledge base
We offer the three most popular RYA Practical Courses and one theory course.
RYA Start Yachting, 3 days, is suitable for total beginners wishing to see how they get on at sea on yacht. Successful completion of the course leads to the RYA Start Yachting Certificate and means you can go to the next level RYA Competent Crew with an additional three day course.
RYA Competent Crew is held over 6 days or two 3 day voyages. If you know you enjoy being at sea on a sailing boat and want to get a useful first step on the ladder then this is the course for you.RYA Day Skipper Practical is 6 days on board and is an opportunity for you to take command of a yacht in a supervised and safe situation. You do need some navigational theory skills and most people do the RYA Day Skipper Theory Course before doing the practical. Success on this course is sufficient to allow you to charter a yacht in the Mediterranean.
