We want to preserve and develop the opportunity for anyone to experience the thrill of sailing on boats and ships with bowsprits. Its important to us that these boats are out there sailing and widely available to as many people as possible. By taking a sailing holiday or course on “boats with bowsprits” you are helping to perpetuate our seafaring traditions, as well as giving a modern purpose for many beautiful craft. As you slip into a bygone era by becoming the crew aboard pilot cutters, luxury yachts and tall ships you are creating a piece of living history and a damn fine sight from the shore !

More sailing opportunities as they arise.
Many of the boats we would like to offer you are run by individuals or couples and the availability of these vessels is often not known until late in the season. It would not be practical to mail all our customers as these new voyages occur and for these reasons the web site and emails make a sensible way of telling you of new opportunities as they arise.

Dedicated Skippers
Personalities are important and our skippers play a major part in why many of our sailing guests come back. Adam and Debbie Purser were co-founders of Classic Sailing Ltd, and have both skippered Eve since 1997.

Phil on Annabel J has spent all his working life associated with the sea and he is now in his fourth season Sailing Annabel J across the Channel and in his home waters of the Solent.

Jerry on Lizzie May

Jerry got addicted to pilot cutters sailing with Classic Sailing and has taken Lizzie May to Scotland where the sailing is some of the best in the world.
