Belfast is the European end of the 2009 Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge Race and there will be many wonderful tall ships to be seen in the port.

The Event – is held over 4 days this coming August, and the port of Belfast will play host to a magnificent spectacle as the final port of the Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge 2009.
Belfast will welcome crews from far and wide, as well as hundreds and thousands of visitors, with its own great brand of hospitality.
Ships will transform the famous quaysides along the River Lagan and provide the backdrop to four days and nights of festivities. There will be 12 ‘class A’ vessels – the biggest class of all the Tall Ships.
There will be plenty of activities for visitors along the quayside, with fun, food and frolics! Activities will include music, street theatre Aerobatic displays, live music, the UK strongest man competition, Crew Parade, Continental Markets and Fun Fairs for the whole family to enjoy.
The best way to view the Belfast Maritime Festival is to sail in on a Tall Ship – you can do this on Oosterschelde!
