Nassau, Bahamas

Nassau is on the island of New Providence. It is the capital, largest city and commerical centre of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. In days gone by, it is rumoured that it was the stronghold of pirates, including one called Blackbeard! Nassau has an attractive harbour, a colourful blend of old world charm and colonial architecture, and a busy port.
Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) is approximately 16km from the city. A short taxi ride will get you to the embarkation point. You will be sent detailed joining instructions approximately 1 month prior to your departure.
The Nassau Tourist Board have a useful website for handy tips for travelling to and from, getting around and customs information.
Depending on your nationality, you may require a visa to travel. Please double check. There is a link within the Nassau Tourist Board website.
Legal tender is the Bahamian Dollar, which is equivalent to the US Dollar. Both are accepted interchangeably throughout the island. However € Euros and £Sterling are not, so make sure you change money on arrival.
