Coastal Portugal

Join Blue Clipper in Porto, the second largest metropolis in Portugal, also known as Oporto. This is an age-old city, the old town centred at Ribeira was built on the hills overlooking the stunning Douro River. One of Portugal’s internationally famous exports, port wine, is named after this famous city. In 1996, Porto was proclaimed a world heritage site, making the unique city a must see. After a day exploring Porto, Blue Clipper will make her way down the coast of Portugal to Lisbon, the oldest city in Western Europe. With its Mediterranean climate, Lisbon has one of the warmest winters of any metropolis in Europe, which October a perfect month to bask in the Lisbon sun. After having a full day to explore the city, you will enjoy your final evening meal on board in the Blue Clipper, taking in Lisbon and all its beauty.

 

Blue Clipper- Three Masted Topsail Schooner

Hands on sailing- Climb the mast, take the helm, and learn to navigate using only the sun and the stars. On board TS Blue Clipper, you get to try your hand at evert aspect of sailing this beautiful tall ship. You do not need any previous sailing experience to join Blue Clipper. The permanent crew of 5 mean that you will be well looked after and get plenty of instruction.

Below Decks

Tall Ship Blue Clipper has extensive accommodation below deck. TS Blue Clipper can accommodate up to 14 guest trainees on board, with 6 twin en-suite cabins and a luxury double cabin, large saloon areas which are beautifully decorated and maintained, a well-equipped galley and plenty of places to sit and relax on deck, she is a very comfortable ship to sail on board.

She offers three cabin choices, a 2 berth cabin for those under 25 years of age at a discounted price. A Twin En-suite cabin for adults and a Luxury Double Suite Cabin with a double bed. You can see the differences below, prices for the luxury double cabin are available at a supplement and on request. 

What's Included 

  • All meals and accommodation when sailing. Meals are cooked by our on board cook.
  • Breakfast and accommodation when in port (all trainees under 18 are chaperoned when in port by a crew member or liaison officer.  They will be taken to nearby catering establishments when they can acquire reasonably priced food during the port stay. This is usually 2 lunches and 2 main meals).
  • Sailing instruction and supervision by 6 experienced crew
  • Third party liability insurance cover

  • Travel to and from the boat
