For centuries mankind has been facinated by the Antarctic. In this day and age, sailing to the ends of the earth in a ship staight out of history makes the journey all the more exciting and adventurous. Our reporters (Rosie & Roland Gockel from Germany) crossed the Southern Ocean in the windjammer Europa, from Cape Horn to the Cape of Good Hope. They spent 7 weeks on board, and got to know penguins, whales & leopard seals- and most of all, themselves.
